All Aged Stakes at Randwick Racecourse
The All Aged Stakes is a premier horse racing event that is held once a year at the Randwick Racecourse in Sydney, Australia. The race is run over 1,400 metres at the historical Randwick Racecourse, which is one of Australia’s most prominent racing tracks.
The Royal Randwick Racecourse is operated in its entirety by the Australian Turf Club, and is better known to locals as ‘Headquarters’. The Randwick track is located about 6 kilometres outside of Sydney’s city centre in the Eastern suburb of Randwick.

The distance of the All Aged Stakes at Randwick makes the race an ideal progression race from the Group 1 TJ Smith Staked, which runs over 1,200 metres under similar race conditions earlier in the racing carnival at Randwick Racecourse.
The race takes place on the last day of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival, along with the Group 1 racing event the AJC Champagne Stakes. The All Aged Stakes at Randwick is the last weight for age race featured in the carnival.
The History of the Race
The race has a long and definite presence in the AJC Autumn race meet, dating as far back as 1865, when the first All Aged Stakes took place. Black in 1865, the race was open to horses of any age, provided that they were thoroughbred. The length of the race has varied over the years as well. Between the years 1865 and 1972, the All Aged Stakes at Randwick was run over a single mile, which was changed in 1973 to 1,600 metres. This was the race’s standard distance until 2004, when the distance was again changed to 1,400 metres. It has remained this way to date.
Recent All Aged Stakes Winners
Recent winners of the Randwick All Aged Stakes include race horses Hana’s Goal in 2014 and All Too Hard in 2013. The 2015 All Aged Stakes was the most recent race, proclaiming Dissident and jockey Jim Cassidy the first place winners. Damien Oliver with horse Wandjina claimed second place, and Chautauqua with jockey Tommy Berry came in at a solid third place on the day. in such games horse betting playing for fun could be good strategy.
